In July 2008 Sounds from South Cliff, a free musical concert, was planned for the
Italian Gardens, but as it was raining heavily it was moved to the Prince of Wales' Gardens. This was an ideal alternative venue as the shelter provided protection from the rain for musicians and spectators alike. Despite the weather the event was highly successful and enjoyed by everyone involved.
